The sign-ups are now officially open!

Though it's not summer everywhere, the assumption for this exchange may be a summer themed gift. If you absolutely don't want to receive a summer themed gift, please note so in the do-not-wants of your sign-up post. Likewise, art and stories absolutely do not need to have anything to do with any type of warm-weather activity unless the recipient specifically asks for it. Feel free to write about Christmas in July if it floats your boat. As a reminder, do not request BBC Sherlock series 3 spoilers in your post or include them in your gift.

If you want to take part in the exchange, all you have to do is join the community and create a new post with your gift request. Please use the following template:

We will guarantee that you will be matched with someone who matches you in the above categories, but this is the space to give the person you’re matched with a better idea about what kind of stuff you like.

Special requests: This is the space to give us an idea of what you'd like us to take into consideration when we match you with your recipient, e. g. "While I don't mind dark!fic, I've done that the last two times around, so if at all possible, give me something cheerful?" We're not promising that every match will be perfect, but we do try.

You can edit your post until sign-ups close on April 17th. Anything you add or delete after that will not be taken into account. If you want to explore some of the more varied Holmesian adaptations, you may want to take a peak at our Sherlock Holmes Related Works reference post when signing up.

All stories have to be a minimum of 1,000 words in length, icon posts should contain at least 10 icons. Any type of fanwork is required to go through some kind of beta process. All finished fanworks must be sent to the mods at [email protected] on or before May 24th. If you haven't submitted your work by then and have not contacted us for an extension, we will automatically look for a pinch hitter.

Please remember that if you sign up to receive a gift, it'll only be fair if you create one as well. That said, if you have to drop out of the exchange for any reason, please e-mail contact one of the moderators as soon as possible or e-mail us at [email protected] so we can find a pinch hitter to create a gift for your intended recipient. If you need your recipient to clarify hir prompt or ask if ze's all right with that one particular thing you'd like to work in, please contact us, and we'll forward the question to preserve your anonymity.

We will be crossposting this to our tumblr account, but please feel free to pimp the exchange far and wide. The more participants we have, the greater the diversity and quality of fanworks!
