Thank you so much for another wonderful round of Holmestice! The mods want to say THANK YOU to all the creators who joined us this round. Being in this community with you is a joy and an honour.

Reveals and the Master List go up on December 21st. Until then, please enjoy and comment on all the lovely fanworks. (If you haven't thanked your creator for your own gift yet, please do!) Creators, please do NOT respond to Dreamwidth comments with your name attached or post your works elsewhere on the Internet until reveals go up in the community. You may of course reply to comments on AO3, which preserves your anonymity.

Meanwhile, stay tuned: treats are coming up! We have a bumper crop this round! For anyone thinking of making a treat, we will accept treats until reveals, so if there's a prompt that inspires you, please have at it! Just use the regular submission guidelines and send your headers to [email protected].

Before it's too late, anyone want to play Two Truths and a Lie? I'd start, but I didn't write this year. (I could lie about that, sure, but it feels unsporting....)

Two truths and a lie:

I wrote fic this time.
I intend to finish a sequel to my submitted fic.
I wrote The Final Adventure...

Somehow I think the last one is a lie! XD

Time to start looking through the fics to see which one is most likely to want a sequel. "The Devil Himself" comes to mind (I'd certainly love to read a sequel to that one!), but you've never written Eurus Holmes before, so you would have had to decide to branch out. It's possible! And definitely more likely than my original theory that rachelindeed wrote it.

Hmmmmm, I *think* this bolsters my theory that you wrote the marvelous "Colourless Skein" fic, given that the author of that work strongly implies in the comments that there are plans for a sequel...

That's assuming that sentence isn't the lie, though. But I think I agree with acorn_squash about which one is the lie?

Oh boy, the nesting in this comments thread is really something.

Anyways, you could conceivably know that one post was right, from beta-reading, private conversations, etc., but really does have no reason to know that more than one post is right, unless you're an incredibly prolific beta-reader (and a bunch of people didn't acknowledge you as their beta). I think the second item is the lie and the third is a truth.

If I'm right about this, there are some fics that we know now have not been written by Iwantthatcoat.

Pssst, I'm fairly sure that Coat is one of the mods of this exchange these days. That's how they know who created everything, and it's also why they can do their best to deflect and confuse in this guessing post, but they can't actually make any guesses themselves. They have too much insider info to leave anything for them to fairly guess :)
