Summer 2015 Holmestice sign-ups close today. So if you were considering signing up, now's the time to do so! As long as the top post isn't "sign-ups are closed" it's still considered "today" by the mods, so sign up!

Assignments will be distributed by April 27th.

If you'd like to make edits to your current sign-up you may also do so until you see the post go up about sign-ups closing.

Please note we've shortened the time between the submission deadline and reveals - reveals will be on the solstice this round instead of the 1st of the month after. We are also allowing optional submission of works via our collection at AO3. We'll post info on how to do that after matches go out. But this means that if you use this option, your work will be hosted on AO3 from the beginning, keeping all your comments, kudos, and bookmarks in the same spot! This is optional and we'll still happily host works here on LJ if you'd prefer.

If you want to take part in the exchange, all you have to do is join the community and create a new post with your gift request. As a reminder, we will be submitting and hosting works on AO3 this round but sign ups will be done through the community as usual. Please use the following template:

You can edit your post until sign-ups close on April 20th. Anything you add or delete after that will not be taken into account.

All stories have to be a minimum of 1,000 words in length, icon posts should contain at least 10 icons. Any type of fanwork is required to go through some kind of beta process. All finished fanworks must be submitted to our AO3 collection on or before May 25th. If you haven't submitted your work by then and have not contacted us for an extension, we will automatically look for a pinch hitter.

Please remember that if you sign up to receive a gift, it'll only be fair if you create one as well. That said, if you have to drop out of the exchange for any reason, please e-mail contact one of the moderators as soon as possible or e-mail us at holmesticemods(at)gmail(dot)com so we can find a pinch hitter to create a gift for your intended recipient. If you need your recipient to clarify hir prompt or ask if ze's all right with that one particular thing you'd like to work in, please contact us, and we'll forward the question to preserve your anonymity.

We will be crossposting this to our tumblr account, but please feel free to pimp the exchange far and wide. The more participants we have, the greater the diversity and quality of fanworks!

You will not be able to post to the community post 11:59 EDT tomorrow night. The mods will send out all assignments by April 28th. If you were debating participating, now's your last chance!

Though it's not summer everywhere, the assumption for this exchange may be a summer themed gift. If you absolutely don't want to receive a summer themed gift, please note so in the do-not-wants of your sign-up post. Likewise, art and stories absolutely do not need to have anything to do with any type of warm-weather activity unless the recipient specifically asks for it. Feel free to write about Christmas in July if it floats your boat. As a reminder, do not request BBC Sherlock series 3 spoilers in your post or include them in your gift.
